Continuando con la nostra serie di segnalazione relative al software presente in ogni nuova release di Ubuntu oggi presentiamo la settima puntata dei giochi inseriti di default, cioè instalabili direttamente tramite i repository Universe con Synaptic o con il classico sudo apt-get install in Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope.Qualche new entry rispetto alla versione anteriore Intrepid Ibex.
Questo post è aggiornato all'ultima release stabile rilasciata da Canonical per Ubuntu il 29 ottobre 2009, cio'è Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.

- Tecnoballz è un clone di Breakout in grafica 2D.
Mette a disposizione dell'utente diversi livelli, inoltre ha dei livelli speciali in cui si dovranno sconfiggere dei mostri utilizzando la pallina per colpirli.

Teeworlds, sparatutto 2D multi-giocatore in stile cartoon.
Teeworlds, in passato conosciuto come Teewars, è uno sparatutto 2D multi-giocatore in stile cartoon, completamente opensource, con controlli da tastiera e mouse ispirati ai quelli classici tutt'ora usati nella stragrande maggioranza degli sparatutto.
Il gioco comprende e supporta nativamente le modalità deathmatch (DM), team deathmatch (TDM) e capture the flag (CTF). Tuttavia la natura "Open-source" del gioco ha permesso la proliferazione di nuove tipologie di gameplay. A titolo d'esempio la modalità instagib, di Velocità_(atletica) o (addirittura) giochi con palla (dove la palla è, graficamente, una granata).
In Italia, Teeworlds è stato selezionato per far parte della Electronic Sport League (ESL), tuttavia non ha riscontrato un grande successo e la sezione è stata chiusa in data 07 giugno 2009.
